Here's another one of those "silly" school assembly songs we all know and love. Try singing it to your kids - and watch out for giggles galore!
(Sung to the tune of "On Top of Old Smokey")
On top of Spaghetti
All covered with cheese
I lost my poor meatball
When somebody sneezed...Aaahchoo!
It rolled off the table
And onto the floor
And then my poor meatball
Rolled out of the door
It rolled to the garden
And under a bush
And now my poor meatball
Is nothing but mush
The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be
And then the next summer
It grew into a tree
The tree was all covered
All covered with moss
And on it grew meatballs
And tomato sauce.
So if you eat spaghetti
All covered with cheese
Hold on to your meatball
And don't ever sneeze!
P/S: Thanks for the rest of the lyrics, Irene.

Oh yes, I remember this well. Thanks to BBGS, this song is permanently imprinted in my brain! Years ago when my kids were small, I sang this to them as a lullaby so often until they could sing it back to me... hehehehehe! BTW I'm from Class of '84 ;)
Yes, I remember this too. I spent 8 years in BBGS, from Primary 1 till Form 2, but always a BB gal at heart. I was known as Hweei Sien, then but since I started work I use my Christian name Deborah.
I thought there was more..
The very next morning..
It grew into a tree..
It grew lovely meatballs,
and tomato sauce..!
I think!
Googled the remainder of the lyrics...
The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be,
And then the next summer,
It grew into a tree.
The tree was all covered,
All covered with moss,
And on it grew meatballs,
And tomato sauce.
So if you eat spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
Hold on to your meatball,
And don't ever sneeze!
Oh my goodness... I remember singing this song too!! I even sing it to my kids *haha* & yes, they love it... (BTW, I am Karen, Denise Khoo's sister, good friends of Alice & Shireen Nah)
